Re: Cycleway to Malahide Progress

This is a super positive development that I'm looking forward to. But definitely a dangerous plan. When the park is open there will be safe access to the route. When the park is closed, most of the village is not going to access it from the new distributor road. A lot of people will be heading down ...

Re: Shoreline Hotel

I was there for the Portrane Hockey Centenary celebration on Saturday night. Food was good, service was good, the refurbishment is a huge improvement. They are apparently trying to go for 4 stars eventually and getting rid of the cheap weddings. They were running a shuttle bus all night. Hopefully t...

With that amount of choice it's remarkable a FF candidate was elected.

Re: Newbridge farm animals blocked from view

This is hoax, or just a bad picture made to make it look really bad. There is a new fence with a new sign 'do not feed the animals'. The holes are smaller now but you still have full visibility.

Re: Train service from Donabate to Connolly Station

I agree, why would we want the Dart? I'm convinced once we have another 5-10k living in Donabate, this will be last stop on the way into the city. Even getting on in Donabate will be difficult. There will definitely be no point in stopping in Malahide anymore and they will lose the diesel service fi...

Re: New By Laws protest

Unfortunately it was just a matter of time before Fingal/Ireland caught up with the rest of the world regarding dogs on leashes. I think it's hard for dog owners to understand how many people are afraid of their dog. Other places have leash free areas which people know to avoid. Surely Newbridge is ...

Summer work for 16 year old

I'm looking for help or suggestions on how a 16 year old should go about trying to find a summer job. Any specific forums, job boards, etc.? Any other ideas?

Re: Music at Donabate College

It's definitely worth asking to talk to the music teacher to see what options there are for her to get involved. My kids go to the school but don't take music. However, there is a couple of concerts every year put on by the students, lunch time concerts, a couple of bands, a choir etc. so there are ...

Re: School league table

It's a good question. The percentage is down, but the numbers are up. Last year there were only 79 who sat the leaving cert, and 64 went on. This year there were 127, and 74 went on. For example, 21 are going to DCU this year vs. 10 last year. Maybe larger class sizes are having an effect? Both my k...

Re: Some diverse questions from a blow in

I joined Beaverstown last year, the course is stunning, the greens are very well kept, it was open all last winter with the exception of 1 day. It's very friendly with an active competition committee keeping things interesting all year round. The membership offer is currently 850 so I don't think it...
