No need to explain why. It was joke and probably a bad one.

Re: House Alarm Carrs Mill

You have to go the neighbour first and try to resolve it amicably. If it doesn't happen you go to noise control unit.

In fairness, Jay right now the priority is social distancing and just safety. If the Tour de France is cancelled the Tour de Fingal also is.

Re: Cycling the Bypass

I would have to say the lads who cycle at 40km are very good at social distancing (I am not one myself). As a generalisation they are ahead of joggers, dopey walkers (not all walkers are dopey) and the stop and chat gang, etc etc

Re: Joggers/Runners

So you are saying if a jogger is coming towards you and you are just walking you have to go out 4.5 metres now to make it safe for the jogger - who is the faster moving object and in the same direction of the traffic - both by their choice. Unless you are in a wheelchair. Incredible.

Re: Corona Virus

So reminder Joggers! You are the faster moving object so it is your responsibility to move out onto the road. The pedestrian should of course make it easier for you - but sometimes it is the pedestrian walking out on the road and jogger still staying in the middle of the path!!!! Don't leave it to t...

Re: Corona Virus

The point came across the wrong way. Obviously, we are very grateful for the work you are doing. When we are out walking, cycling and running we all need to be more aware of our surroundings so that we can provide the two meter distance. If anyone has the headphones up high, and you need to say some...

Re: Corona Virus

So headphones are a problem now too? Jesus wept. Yes they are a problem when the volume is too high and they cannot hear when people are trying to communicate with them as has happened yesterday. I updated that post to make it a bit clearer as it probably wasn't obvious. I hope you are well and als...

Re: Corona Virus

So many people wearing headphones whether they are jogging or walking have the volume very high and won't here you when you try to communicate who should move. It's incredible. It's like this Covid 19 is just someone's else problem.

Re: Corona Virus

Most important thing is when you go past pedestrians you give then 2 metres minimum if not more. If you do that great. Take 2.5 km or 3 km for all I care.

Re: Corona Virus

So today there are 3,557 cases in Dublin. Probably 10,000 when you consider people waiting on tests and people who are asymptomatic. So how many in Donabate? Well Donabate has 1% of the population of Dublin. It's got to be 100. Scary stuff. So when you are out for your walk on the narrow footpaths g...

Re: Corona Virus

Hi,slightly off topic but could people appreciate that although the golf courses are closed that doesn't make them a free for all, twice yesterday I watched people push buggys and prams right across greens and letting their children run around, there's plenty of green space on the courses if that's...

Re: Corona Virus

Yes and No. The inconsiderate pedestrians are easier to avoid. The inconsiderate joggers that come from behind that breath behind and beside you when you are not expecting it catch you blind. They are also gone before you can tell them you are annoyed without shouting. I try to jog and I am at the p...

Re: Fingal Co. Co. closing public spaces - contrary to official COVID advice?

I think the car parks at them are closed. It would be a bad idea to close them to pedestrians as then the narrow footpaths in Donabate will just become more crowded. I think Adrian Henchy might clarify what that message means

Re: Corona Virus

Hi Folks, Big favour to ask for any joggers. You are puffing and panting and you need to give people 2M when you pass them out. There are older people walking on the footpath, or have a pram or just don't see you coming. One brushed shoulder with me yesterday and I saw another this morning who didn'...

Re: WHAT WENT WRONG IN THE VILLAGE LAST NIGHT

Well think the problems here are obvious. Donabate has a bottle neck from the hump back bridge down to St. Pats. Anything goes wrong and then it's "Who's your Mamma?" Of course, planners at fault. The distributor road should help but it is a bit of scam. It will increase houses and population and th...

Re: Election prediction

Good analysis Mr. Stupid. It’s the end of civil war FG FF duopoly. Now we finally find ourselves in a left versus right democracy. Labour failed to represent the working class vote.. mainly because they are mostly middle class politicians. Sinn Féin did. Now they will form the opposition and gain c...

Re: Election prediction

Ok so do the Maths, it's one big party and one small party to rule you. So either FF, FG or SF will be involved. Who do you pick? For me FG. That's not on policy as there's very little difference between FF and FG. It's more about track record. Break the country or fix the country. I am not a delusi...
