Re: Cycleway to Malahide Progress

It also gives us access to everywhere south of us without the need to travel up the Hearse Road / Turvey and Lissenhall etc. Portmarnock, Howth. Edenmore!

Re: Cycleway to Malahide Progress

If it's going to link up to Rush and Skerries etc in the future does that not mean it will have to come through the town?
I think it's great we'll have a cycling / walking / running route to Malahide and much further in years to come. People will always find something to moan about.

Re: Semple Woods new development

I wonder what sort of discount they are getting? I can't see buildiers giving away much. The only savings from the builder's side would possibly be legal fees and estate agent fees. If they're buying on the scale these guys are, they're not shelling out at the same rate your average Joe is paying, ...

Re: Semple Woods new development

Actually it is working the opposite way. They are paying above the asking prices. They can afford to do this given the future revenues from renting them out. It cuts out individuals looking to buy homes. It's good for them. Good for developers. And good for the government - not exposing our banks to...

Re: Housing - Ballymastone

I would be in the same boat re FF myself. I've never voted for them. However, when it comes to local representatives, those with access to TDs and that have a party machine behind them can be more effective that many independents that just serve to make noise. There's a lot at stake on the penninsu...

Yeah, felt that pressure too. Was called over by a coach during training from the sideline and asked in front of other parents if I was signing up. Could have hit this particular guy. It should be remembered who the hard sell is being put on.

Re: New By Laws protest

If they didn't have those laws all those people who do clean up after their dogs wouldn't do it. Some do it because it's the law, others because they don't want to be seen to be breaking the law. Same with leashes.

It's a good thing to leave the clippings. Visually not great for a short while but it breaks down and returns nitrogen to the soil to feed the newly growing grass. Without it you'd need chemicals or else have sh*tty looking patchy grass with lots of weeds.

Re: Planning Permission for additional 3 houses in Orchard V

One major concern I'd have about this development is that there is only provision for two car parking spaces for each house and with no overflow parking anywhere. This means when people have friends around a workman or woman needs to park their van they inevitably use Beaverstown road and block a l...
