Re: Foreign students attacked and robbed in village tonight

Aoifey I think that's good advice - check your kids phones - generally and specifically if they were out unsupervised when the assault occurred. I don't think that we can blame infrastructure for thuggery and a lack of empathy with others or the environment - parents and the kids themselves have to ...

Re: Foreign students attacked and robbed in village tonight

I understand the Gardaí know who the individual who carried out the assault is and I suspect some of the responsible adults in the community also know who the individual is and who his associates are - but what are they to do with that information - what can be done when you have teenage thugs embed...

Re: Antisocial Behavior (Please read Admin Note before posti

Mirror - you would be assisting the Gardaí in identifying who the troublemakers are or are not as the case may be. Members of the community suspect that certain individuals are the ringleaders - you have the details of the individuals concerned. Do your civic duty and help your community and the Gar...

A great night and a top class school - well done and thanks Maeve and the staff. I have to mention the spread after the ceremony last night - it was unbelievable - thanks to all the parents who made the effort - it was noted and appreciated.

Re: Ballisk Walkway opening times

I recollect there was also another walkway originally planned from Beverton Walk through the Galleries and on to the train station but as far as I know it was canned due to protestations by Beverton residents this time in the vicinity of the proposed access.

Re: Ballisk Walkway opening times

Again it is only my recollection and the residents of Ballisk Lane can no doubt better explain it but I believe they argued obviously successfully that having the laneway opened to the residents of Beverton would potentially see the residents of Ballisk Lane exposed to anti social behavior presumabl...

Re: Ballisk Walkway opening times

My recollection is that the Ballisk Lane residents were better organised and represented than the Beverton residents even though outnumbered 10 to 1... hence the restricted opening and the times themselves (allowing for the last train would have been more reasonable) plus an annual budget to pay the...

Re: Development next to the railway bridge

It gets worse - how can you allow a t junction on the hearse road at that location ? it beggars belief. Even with the relief road in place, this will be a serious bottleneck. Next thing they will introduce traffic lights here.

Re: Experiences with Community College

It is great to hear the positive stories...doubtless there are issues as many schools have but there has been no balance to the way the school has been portrayed. My neighbours daughter stuck with the school thru to leaving cert and she did brilliantly as did her friends and she got her first choice...

Its a fantastic development John and I also wish them well and welcome that type of investment in the community but €1 for air is a cheap shot and out of kilter with the competition and hardly a make or break item...more than just hot air..expensive air..

Maxol Garage

I have called into the new garage on a couple of occasions to buy petrol and have ended up spending 20 to 30 euro on top of the fuel - a fine facility indeed. I went down on my bike this evening with flat tyres and without my wallet to top up the air in the tyres and low and behold...I didn't have a...

Thanks for the suggestion vlad..i can bash out a tune myself and have done what you suggest but with young kids, the structure and discipline of a lesson especially when they are getting started greatly increases the probability they will practice etc.
