Re: Online Petition To Remove Beverton/Ballisk Walkway Gate

Just to reinforce that Fingal CoCo have not ruled out the agreement being revisited at any stage in the future . They are acknowledging the democratic right of the majority to challenge the agreement which has been imposed upon us by a minority. The bottom line is that Beverton residents who have s...

Re: Bus Changes 33b & 33d

New proposal here: https://busconnects.ie/media/1647/swords-accordian-leaflet-260919-fa.html Seems like they actually listened :o except we are still one of the only (if not the only) major town in Dublin without a bus route directly to the city centre. the 2 peak time routes don't count as 1) they...

Re: Teenage groups/ gangs

Once again the weekend is here and I see the usual 20+ so teenagers at the entrance to The Priory and around the group of shops on the Portrane Road. Seemingly throwing the odd firework and littering without a care. I wonder why their, so called, parents think it is acceptable for this group, who a...

Re: Crisis in Childcare- Donabate

unfortunately this is what happens when the government tell the council to build a certain number of houses regardless of lack of infrastructure. An Bord Pleanala have a lot to answer for as well. Decisions made by people who probably have never set foot on the peninsula. Childcare across the countr...

Re: new road system

you would have to wonder who gets paid to make these decisions. traffic lights on the hearse road? I can forsee daily traffic backups both into and out of donabate at peak times as a direct result of these lights. what was wrong with the roundabout? seemed to be working just fine.

didnt hear or see it myself yesterday.
but remember, every time you see him on it, call the guards. they have to come out and take it from him if they see him on it

it's a better option than injuring someone

anyone know this young lad that could have a word with his parents? he's back at it again, illegally riding this bike on roads and paths. only a matter of time before he injures a child.

Re: New bus service to the city Centre

In principle this service is good news but it appears to be operating on almost the same route and within 20 minutes of the 33D. Hard to see the benefit and possibly a threat to the existing service which was hard fought to retain. An hour or 90 minutes between them would have made more sense - unl...

Re: New bus service to the city Centre

i welcome this extra service. cant for the life of me understand why extra transport planning isnt a requirement of every planning application on this peninsula and not an afterthought. but then i remember we live in ireland. my only concern is as follows will the 33D service provided by dublin bus ...

Re: Hearse Road Closure

My understanding of this 6 month closure is that the road is to be closed between 10pm and 6am. However the electronic signs leading up to the Hearse Road coming from Swords are now displaying road closed between 8pm and 6am. I understand they were allowed to put in temporary traffic lights on stret...

Re: Dunrovin Portrane Rd

i thought this development was for a handful of semi and detached houses. clearly i was wrong on that. i wonder why in this country, it isnt a requirement of planning that public transport, as well as infrastructure isnt a requirement to be in place before building is allowed. All these developments...

Dirt Bike/Scrambler driving through estates

last few days there has been a young lad driving through Somerton and ive seen him go into cois inbhir and back into Somerton on one of these bikes. given his age im assuming he is neither licenced, taxed nor insured, meaning he is illegally driving through these estates and onto a path to get betwe...

if the entrance to the new estate is where it looks like they are putting it, ie: pretty much on the bridge, then i dont think ive ever seen a more ridiculous planning permission. that is going to be incredibly incredibly dangerous. But then again, ive come to expect this in donabate

Re: Elections

All you blow-ins are all talk. The planners in Fingal said that the infrastructure in Donabate is well able to support the current building. At least one of the reps from the peninsula had the sense to stand up to the numpties and their mean-spirited moratorium. ah yes, name calling is always a goo...

Re: Elections

I wouldn't judge a candidate on their support for the moratorium. Given the housing crisis, it's difficult for larger parties to support it as the optics aren't good when viewed nationally. and therein lies the problem. working for the party and not for the people. i couldnt care less about the par...

Re: What does Donabate / Portrane need?

We need a solution to the the Hearse Road/M1/R132 junction. That's going to become a major bottleneck very quickly. the problem is that as far as i know, an improvement of the hearse road junction to the M1 isnt even on the councils radar. if this is true then it shows the complete contempt that FC...

The laws of supply and demand will still apply to the rental market. More properties available could lead to lower rents. A large part of the problem today is a lcak of properties. Comment was directed at you - the general trend of this forum is scaremongering and doom and gloom, which is disappointing. Re: This place is getting worse

Classic keyboard warrior ranting. Donabate and north county Dublin in general, is a great place to live, it always has been and always will. With development and expansion, there will inevitably be difficulties with change. Swords expanded hugely in the last 30 years, but yet it’s a desirable place...
