Re: What does Donabate / Portrane need?

Yes, the dire train situation is the biggest concern. We may as well be living in Donegal if we don't have access to Dublin City. I did read an article (can't find now) where someone suggested towns like Donabate should be self sufficient - give us planning for a business park or the like... not jus...

Re: What does Donabate / Portrane need?

LIDL or Aldi.

SuperValu ain't too bad, but would be nice to get the added value of the above.

A swimming pool.

Trains trains trains.

Even a frequent bus that goes through the port tunnel.

Dual carriageway to the M1 (not single lane).

Cycle route and improved footpath all the way to portrane

Increased Garda presence in Donabate recently?

Hi,

Has anybody else noticed we've had a few Garda patrolling the streets recently?

Great to see it. I know we really need our own station, but it's comforting to know they're there...

Is there no cop on amongst the decision makers in this country?
Nope. There is not.

I had heard on boards.ie that quite a lot of the first release of Semple Woods had taken deposits which I though was a positive sign for the development...

Any word on when phase two will be released?

Re: Elections

The biggest monstrosity is not the 200 units for Tilberry, it is the 2.000 units for Ballymastone. Alan Farrell, FG et al don't give two hoots about Donabate. It would certainly be interesting to see if this changed or continued if an FG candidate got elected out here. 2,000? Isn't it 1,000 for Bal...

Re: Gang of youths in the spires

It was a bit wild alright. I do recall entering my first 18+ club (when I was 13) & was terrified... as we approached the bouncer left his post to have a smoke, so we went straight in πŸ™‚ By 16, we were too old for that particular venue πŸ™‚ Are there any community centres in the area? As you said, anyth...

Re: Gang of youths in the spires

What's the source of this information Vlad?

To be honest - I'm from a small town up north. Delinquents roam everywhere. I went through a 'little shit' phase myself. Depends on weather or not you grow out of it.

What age are the 'well known youths' ?

Re: Gang of youths in the spires

Any idea what age they were?

Attacking each other, or random passers by?

Is this a problem in all Dublin, or just north county?

Myself & partner enjoy a big walk on a Sunday (weather permitting).

This to me looks like another nice place we can spend Sunday Morning / Afternoon, then a pint or two on the way home πŸ™‚

I'm currently renting a room in Donabate and have intentions to buy here... went for a walk towards Portrane yesterday evening & it really is a gorgeous little village, lots of people out walking & running... Really, really hope it doesn't change too much / lose its charm with all the development co...

The Gallery - Still a good buy?

Hello, My wife and I have inspected two apartments in The Gallery & thought they looked great. Given the negativity on here recently, we're a little bit concerned. Can anyone give any insights on the apartments? What is it like to live there? A lot of have sold in the past few years which makes me w...
