Re: Beverton Avenue : SHAME ON YOU !

Locking this as everyone as had their say.

We will leave this as viewable until Monday and then archive it. It's unfair to leave a post singling out areas of Beverton when this issue exists elsewhere in Donabate and across the country.

Re: Beverton Avenue : SHAME ON YOU !

Leaving Gemma O'Doherty aside who's a nutter for lots of reasons, I think it's good to have healthy debate around the restrictions. It's possible that the restrictions are a victim of their own success. There's no doubt that we're seeing nothing close to the numbers projected. We only have to look t...

Landscape Gardner

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a local landscape gardener? I see a few recommendations on the site, but they're a few years old at this stage.

Child's Desk & Chair - Free

Child's desk and chair. Few marks on the desk, but could be touched up. Chair in great condition.

Hopefully it's of use to someone.

Tree Surgeon Recommendation

Can anyone recommend a tree surgeon locally? It's a smallish job. We have a holly bush in our garden that is very firmly rooted and has spread under a wall. We want it at least killed off if not taken out. Any recommendations welcome.

Thanks,

Green House - Free

Anyone interested in a green house? It's approximately 6' X 4' and has PVC panels and a sliding door. It's in good condition but needs a clean. One of the panels is cracked but could be repaired.

It's not easy to disassemble so would be easier to lift on to a van as is.

Re: Spin Bike

The market for fitness equipment is mad at the moment with gyms closed. Elverys and other online retailers are pretty much sold out and stuff on Adverts/Donedeal is going for above asking price in a lot of cases.

Re: SuperValu

Just asking a question Ken. It was bevertonian (and others over the years) accusing SV of 'getting away' with overcharging. Personally I think it's disgraceful to make those accusations. Sorry, it was unfair to quote you as I guessed where you were going with your question. I agree that it's unfair...

Do you think they are intentionally defrauding people?
Please read the forum charter. No accusations against local businesses. Please take them somewhere else.

Re: Fingal Co. Co. closing public spaces - contrary to official COVID advice?

Seems over the top. I could understand closing the car parks as it stops outsiders travelling to the parks and beaches, but hard to understand why they can't be kept open for locals.

SuperValu operate as a franchise rather than a single organisation. I would imagine that's down to the individual store owners.

What about the children of frontline workers ??
That's not an easy one. There are many frontline workers currently isolating themselves from their family to minimise risk. Not sure how they manage if they have no childminder in their own home when they need to work.

Would people looking after other people's kids not be putting themselves and those kids in danger?
It's against the current directive if they are minded by someone outside of their household.

Hi,

A user mailed the admin account with the following "I saw a pair of glasses on a bungalow wall opposite the links entrance today. Someone here posted that they lost a pair. "

Sounds like it may be worth checking out.

Re: Eircom.net Email Addresses

I spoke to one of Eir's tech support guys a few weeks back. This was before the announcement. The legacy Eircom.net email system is a headache for them. They would ideally love to kill it, but it's a legal minefield. It isn't being supported beyond basic maintenance and I think this was a way to kic...
