Re: New By Laws protest

I'm a responsible dog owner. I pick up after my dog and keep him on a leash near people. Recently we were allocated an off leash area in the park which is completely unsuitable. It's a mucky field with a gate wide enough for dogs to run out onto the adjacent road (Cobb's Lane). Dog owners are probab...

Aoifey, I totally agree with you. It doesn't look good even if there is no conflict of interest there.

Dog Minder needed for end of June

I know there's been a few posts about this before but the recommendations I've seen here seem to be all for kennels. I'm looking for a dog minder in the area to look after our dog for 4 days at the end of June/beginning of July. He's very nervous and doesn't do well in a kennel environment or where ...

Re: Posters on hearse road

I agree, they are not only dreadful, they are misleading and there are too many of them in one small area. I don't think there should be any posters at all for this referendum, especially if they are going to contain material that is incorrect and scare-mongering.

Re: Supervalu

One of the biggest problems I find with our local Supervalu is that, quite often, their tills do not register special offers. I've been caught out a few times and didn't realise until I checked my receipt at home. Often there will be a sticker on the shelf with one price and when you go to pay the p...

I saw the Gardai searching too. They were in dark clothing marked Garda and were looking for something in the old Educate Together site.

Washing machine repairs

Just had a lovely man from Driscoll Repairs out to repair my washing machine this afternoon. Punctual, friendly and very good value for money. Highly recommended from one satisfied customer. http://www.driscollrepairs.com/

Chimney Sweep needed

Hi, could anyone recommend a chimney sweep who is experienced in cleaning chimneys where there is an integrated wood burning stove. Stove would have have to be removed and re-instated for cleaning. Thanks in advance.

Re: Up in smoke

I have teenagers. They won't go through the village if these gangs are hanging around. I know this sort of thing has been going on since I was a teenager myself, which isn't yesterday, but that doesn't make it right or acceptable. They shouldn't be "giving lip", they should be taught how to behave r...

Is it not a bit late to move the planning permission notice now? That should have been there as soon as permission was sought.

Re: Cars 'Parked' on the Beaverstown Road at Educate togethe

They should just shut the drop off zone. I've had children in the school myself and this problem has been ongoing for years. It obviously isn't working. Why parents can't park in the Community Centre and walk the short distance to the school is beyond me. Access to the drop off zone should be reserv...

Re: Planning Permission for additional 3 houses in Orchard V

I can't understand how they can get away with putting the application for planning permission is not on the site itself. Surely this contravenes planning guidelines. It's ironic that the Orchard View development has hoarding advertising an estate surrounded by trees while, in fact, they've removed t...

Re: Little Darlings and arson

There are kids from my youngest son's class hanging around Supervalu already, they're only 11 years old. Most of them from "respectable" homes. Parents don't seem to give a toss where their kids are as long as they're out of their way. Someone I know mentioned it to one of the mothers and her reply ...

Driving home from the park this evening and there was a bunch of teenagers, around age 14/15 at a guess, at the Hand who appeared to be throwing stones across the road over the traffic. Lovely. Where are all the parents?

I know two people who changed to Eir and changed back to Sky within the 14 day period. We've been with Sky for years now, have them for TV, broadband and phone and I find it a very reasonably priced and reliable service.
