Re: New arrivals

Populate is under 10K but it's heading towards 20K, if not more - with no significant boost to any facilities.

Re: New arrivals

Good Man Mr. Stupid. There was a case a few years back, where a land owner was getting objections to planning permission. He gave access to the travelling community. The objections where withdrawn. Doesn't suprise me I'll assume, since you didn't answer, that you do feel more entitled to a swimming...

Re: New arrivals

"There are gates onto that land that are locked , they must have broken the lock to gain access, I reckon they will be shifted pretty quickly." Fair. They must have committed a crime. Who needs evidence. Just curious, would you like to be accused of a crime, without any evidence Mr. Stupid. Spot on...

Re: New arrivals

But Bruce, challenge but do so fairly. No one is saying no more residents, no social housing, no mentally ill patients. Are they? There is a sense that these things should be done proportionally and whatever the population coming out to Donabate the place needs some serious infrastructure that isn't...

Re: Donabate Relief Road - €15m Investment

Hi All, I think lots of people are not aware about the current situation. I wonder if there is a way we can discuss this as community so many more people will know about the current planning for Donabate and eventually talk to our representatives. Keep spreading the word batman because you are righ...

Mary McCamley email is: marymccamley@gmail.com Paul Reid email is: chiefexecutive@fingal.ie I would suggest anybody concern about the scale of social housing (Darndale Part Deux) emails the people above. In summary: * Every new estate will have 10% social housing -- this even means some nice swanky ...

Re: Houses Ballymastone Disaster

Hi there, We have really set our hearts on Donabate as a place to live and raise our family. It’s such a lovely village! Planning to put an offer on a house in a few weeks and just came across this board. It does seem like an alarmingly high number of social houses in one estate in a village that s...

Re: Donabate Relief Road - €15m Investment

Tend to agree.
With that number of houses, the Dart, Malahide walkway etc all need to be finished.
Also I am very concerned about the amount of social housing. Have fears the place is just going to be a complete kip.

Re: New Houses at Beresford

Decision Order 29: https://imgur.com/a/5qgr6 "A shortfall of 10,731 sq metres". That's two Soccer pitches. The density thing is in the development plan but so is having a swimming pool and a dart station. So is no house being further than 500M from a Bus Stop. The houses at the back of Beresford wil...

Re: Up in smoke

I took this off on a tangent with the Daily Mail and given the sensitivities around the fire etc I apologise. Look I could give examples where I think it's Daily Mail - even the recent post about something that happened in Gormanstown. What's the point of that? To scare people? To make us stop using...

Daily Mail incidents happen as well; it's the slant they are given. Is it constructive? Is it always fair?

People giving out about the negativity on the whatsapp groups or Facebook pages. But these are vital tools to keep us informed about what exactly is going on. Would you rather not know about it? Sometimes, it makes more sense to talk to a teenager or directly to their parents. Set up a residents' c...

Re: Up in smoke

I would agree with Jack. I think that Whatsapp group is doing nothing other than create a sense of fear, paranoia and a little bit of racism. The FB page Donabate Village is even worse. Daily Mail eat your heart out. At least with this forum there's a range of views. There are challenges particularl...

Re: New Houses at Beresford

Suggestions: 1. Appeal article 25 of the condition of planning which stipulated that Hora was to give around 600K to the council and in return didn't have to provide 2 acres of green space which is supposed to under LAP. If he has to provide 2 acres of green space it would bring the densities down b...

Re: Houses Ballymastone Disaster

I was just thinking about paying advance to a house in Donabate. Do you guys reckon, If I should reconsider this. It will more than likely go the same way as Balbriggan with a disproportionate amount of social housing and low budget housing. However, Balbriggan has way more facilities and a better ...

Re: Houses Ballymastone Disaster

Sometimes the council will do a full social housing estate, but they are generally very small. This one in Lusk is 27 houses: https://www.independent.ie/regionals/fingalindependent/news/33-million-for-lusk-social-housing-project-34413097.html Kelly is also saying: "1,000 social housing units across ...

500 social houses on their way?

Okay so hearing Fingal CC are planning to develop 1,000 houses in the lands in Ballymastone - the heart of Donabate. 250 affordable, 250 free and 500 private. So, minimum 500 social and guessing the 500 private are going to be small, lower budget type. I think this flies in the face of national poli...

Re: Planning Permission for additional 3 houses in Orchard V

Beresford is half way thru 400 houses and has no plans for over flow parking anywhere. 2 Acres of green spaces stipulated by the LAP wiped out so the developer could build more houses and no walk ways meaning more people needing to use their car. It is a similar pattern unfortunately and sadly when ...

Re: New Houses at Beresford

I don't know how they will fit in over 400 houses. Currently the plan is 155. Unless they plan to go left towards the old turvey golf course. They are putting in 33 houses at the back field and cannot go further than that because it is the Beaverstown golf club and they wouldn't be able to put that...

Re: Planning Permission for additional 3 houses in Orchard V

One major concern I'd have about this development is that there is only provision for two car parking spaces for each house and with no overflow parking anywhere. This means when people have friends around a workman or woman needs to park their van they inevitably use Beaverstown road and block a lo...

Theory 3 -- Newbridge was the bottleneck.

Similar to above once you are in Newbridge you can only go 10km per hour. If everyone is going this way and all has to go thru the same point, then all of a sudden everyone can only 10km per hour. That spills back out on Hearse.
