Hearse Rd upgrade

Post by Fr Jack » 08 Dec 2018, 09:25

I think most people driving by this job in the last week or so will have noticed that the main road into Donabate has actually been narrowed and an island put in the middle for a pedestrian crossing. With so much construction work going on in Donabate for the foreseeable future and the new distributor road a long way off completion surely this is going to add to the congestion already happening. I find it baffling that with cars getting bigger all the time that some "clever" people see fit to have a road such as Hearse rd narrowed.

It does look odd. Not sure if it's part of the pedestrian crossing for the new Newbridge pedestrian entrance or some sort of traffic calming measure. Considering the buses and trucks that use the road, it does look narrow.

looking down that new rd coming from donabate, the road looks really narrow. its probably built to the nearest mm.
