Burning banks

Post by Peter V » 22 Dec 2018, 12:07

Disgusting act of stupidity in Swords with the KBC bank being firebombed. There is a real cost to irresponsible populist politics.

Interesting article quoting Brendan Burgess in IT might be relevant.

Good to put numbers on the cost of nobody ever being evicted.
Sinn Féin TD tells KBC bank his party will not stand for the eviction of Irish people

There is a lot of virtue signalling on this, the real cost seems to be that a young couple struggling to pay for their mortgage over the next 30 years paying an extra 90,000 to cover the costs of people who think they shouldn't have to pay taxes or loans on land rovers and their supporters.
Mr McGann, who was forced to pay €429,501 to settle a Revenue tax debt in 2015 for underdeclaration of VAT, has had a number of judgments against him, including one for non-payment of a loan on a Land Rover.
